An invitation to the Disability:IN Minnesota Member Meeting for October 2022. Inclusive Networking and Land O’Lakes will share about their partnership supporting interns with disabilities. Disability:IN Minnesota invites you to join us for our next hybrid Member Meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 8:00 am – 9:30 am.

Presentation: Land O’Lakes and Inclusive Networking are excited to share about their partnership, training, customized internship positions and ongoing support for interns with disabilities to gain paid internship experience at Land O’Lakes.

The Inclusive Employer Internship Program is in partnership with Inclusive Networking who was awarded a two-year grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services – Disability Service Division that supports new and innovative ideas to help people with disabilities gain integrated, competitive employment.

Objectives:

  • Learn how the Minnesota Department of Human Services is supporting this internship program
  • Find out details about the Employer Program offered by Inclusive Networking
  • Hear from Land O’Lakes about best practices and what it takes to get an internship program started.

Presenters:

Jodi WestJodi West has worked at Land O’Lakes for three decades, currently as a Business Analyst for Global Dairy Ingredients. In 2018, she co-founded Land O’Lakes’ DisAbility Awareness Employee Resource Group. Jodi’s passion for working with people with disabilities started with her son, Alex, who has cognitive disabilities. Jodi’s experiences advocating for her son — from ensuring his educational needs were met in the classroom to obtaining guardianship and securing employment — have driven her to become a fierce advocate. Outside of work, Jodi enjoys antiquing, reading and spending time with her family.

Nicole RabinowitzNicole Rabinowitz is the founder of Inclusive Networking. She grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from the University of Kansas. She was trained in Customized Employment through Marc Gold and Associates (MG&A) and currently is an MG&A associate who trains and certifies those seeking Discovery Certification. Nicole is very passionate about supporting job seekers with disabilities in finding meaningful, integrated, competitive employment as well as providing support and innovative training to employers, employment specialists, and job coaches to create more diverse and inclusive work environments.

PaigePaige is grateful to work at Inclusive Networking as the Lead Disability Employment Consultant since 2021. She earned her B.S. in Disability Studies from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and was trained in Customized Employment through Marc Gold and Associates (MG&A). She has several years of personal and professional experience within the disability community and services- spanning home-based care to healthy relationship education programming in the workforce. Paige’s goal is to increase accessibility to meaningful activities in life for all. She loves traveling, gardening, singing, and board games!

Laura AndertMeet Laura Andert, a Disability Inclusion Business Partnership Consultant with Inclusive Networking. Having a disability, she taught herself the importance of persevering and advocating early on. Laura gained experience working in various roles in the restaurant and hospitality fields. As a Disability Inclusion Business Partnership Consultant, she brings her insights, talents, and strengths to the table and thrives in her role every day! Additionally, she is currently studying to be a Benefits Coach with the hope that she will help people with disabilities learn how to persevere and self-advocate to independently manage their own benefits.

Parking lots do not connect. To access the Building C Main Entrance and Building C Conference Center, turn onto County Road F, park in the North parking lot enter through the Building C visitor entrance.

  • Disability:IN Minnesota members: Free (for member companies and their employees)
  • Partner members: $20 per person (Disability:IN Affiliate and Center for Disability Inclusion members)
  • Non-members: $20 per person
  • Prospective Disability:IN Minnesota non-members are welcome to attend their first meeting free. For details, contact info@DI-MN.org.
