Andrea M. Hall — Diversity & Inclusion, Sr. Manager, General Dynamics Mission Systems.
Based out of Fair Lakes, Virginia, Andrea joined GDMS in November 2018. In her current role, Andrea and her team lead Diversity Recruiting, Workplace Inclusion, Cultural Branding, and GDMS’ Campus & Military Outreach Programs.
Prior to joining General Dynamics Mission Systems, Andrea spent 14 years with Computer Sciences Corporation which was renamed DXC in 2017. She held a variety of roles in her time including: HRBP, Military Outreach Program Lead, Global Diversity Recruiting Lead, and Americas on Campus Lead.
Prior to joining corporate America, Andrea served with the Department of the Army, Pentagon, as one of the original members of the Army Wounded Warrior Program.
Andrea is married to her husband, LTC(R) Lamar W. Hall a 3-tour Army Combat Veteran with more than 23 years of service. Andrea and Lamar have 2 adult children, Alec and Alyse Hall, both graduates of Old Dominion University.

Maria Baer — Diversity Recruitment Specialist, Mayo Clinic
Maria D. Baer is a Diversity Recruitment Specialist at Mayo Clinic focusing on Veterans engagement and recruitment strategies, as well as developing career pathways for veterans into Mayo Clinic. Maria has been at Mayo for 5 years.
Before joining Mayo Clinic, Maria retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S Army where she served as Senior Human Resources Officer with various units to include the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, the 82nd Airborne Sustainment Brigade, and the 18th Airborne Corps, in addition to overseas assignments in Kuwait, Israel, Germany, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Her most recent assignment was in the Minnesota National Guard as the 34th Infantry Division Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources. Maria was recently recognized as one of the G.I. Jobs 2022 Veteran Champions in Corporate America.
Tom Downs — Talent Acquisition, Booz Allen Hamilton
Tom Downs is the Head of Diversity Talent Acquisition at Booz Allen Hamilton and joined the firm in the fall of 2020. Tom was able to quickly make an impact for disability inclusion with Booz Allen Hamilton being recognized as the “Private Sector Employer of the Year” (2021) by Careers and disABLED magazine/Equal Opportunity Publications and launching a neurodiverse hiring initiative.
Prior to that, Tom was with Gartner where he also led their global Diversity Talent Acquisition efforts for nearly 2 years. While at Gartner, Tom established a global diversity outreach, engagement and recruiting strategy that was inclusive of People with Disabilities, a first for the company.
Preceding Gartner, Tom worked at Capital One for nearly 6 years where he also led their Diversity Talent Acquisition efforts. While at Capital One, Tom expanded their national events strategy supporting disability hiring initiatives resulting in Capital One being recognized as an industry leader for disability inclusion resulting in multiple external benchmarking accolades, to include: “Careers and Disabled Top 50 Employer” designations, multiple 100% scores on Disability:IN’s DEI survey, expansion of the “Autism at Work” program and recognition as the “Private Sector Employer of the Year” (2018) by Careers and disABLED magazine/Equal Opportunity Publications.
Prior to Capital One, Tom retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 21 years. Outside of work Tom enjoys spending time with his family (wife, son, and daughter), traveling, riding motorcycles, and attending sporting events.
David Donovan — HR Recruitment Specialist, Sedgwick County
David began his career with Sedgwick County as a Children’s Case Manager with COMCARE, and then later moved into a recruitment role for that agency where he was able to apply his knowledge of community resources to build relationships and talent pipelines. In his current role, he assists with recruiting efforts for a wide variety of roles across all the County’s departments. He enjoys helping jobseekers explore their skills, experiences, and goals and then match them up with that perfect position they’ve been looking for.
Tonya Barber — Director of Global Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, UnitedHealth Group
Senior leader partnering across UnitedHealth Group (UHG) to drive restless & relentless growth by developing strategies to attract, retain, and support diverse programs and talent.
Tonya has 20+ years of experience in human capital across health care sectors including medical device, biotech, health insurance, and health administration. She has held leadership positions at UHG, Allina Health, SAIC, and Medtronic overseeing:
Talent acquisition
Workforce capacity planning
Clinical student experiences
Early careers
DE&I
Employment branding
Diversity communications
Strategic diversity initiatives
At Allina Health, she served as the chair of Allina’s Women’s ERG Leadership Committee, was a member of the CEO DE&I Roundtable, and is a board member for the Anoka County Workforce Development Board.
In addition, throughout her career, she continues to engage in developing career exploration programs designed to recruit diverse talent and advance behaviors that embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels and abilities.
Tonya has a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management and is currently
pursuing an MBA in Health Care.
