Featured Presentation: The Impact of Accessibility on Business
Description: This presentation will discuss where the current state of digital accessibility is and where it is going for the future. The presenters will be highlighting how accessibility impacts all types of business decisions in today’s environment. They will share practical actions that can be used in day to day work and life to be more accessible.
Presenters:
Becca Moser
Becca Moser is a Senior Technical Writer on Siteimprove’s Academy team and has been with Siteimprove for three years. She collaborates with subject matter experts around the company (and sometimes outside the company). While working with them she utilizes their expertise and knowledge, and re-purposes this to build out engaging e-learning course outlines for mass consumption. A part of her role is ensuring that digital accessibility is front of mind and implemented with all communication whether internal or external with these courses. She has a true passion to ensure that digital accessibility is a daily part of life.
Jenny VonYeast
Jenny VonYeast is a Senior Accessibility Analyst for Siteimprove’s Manual Tester team and has worked for Siteimprove for nearly five years. She ensures that customers, ranging from enterprise multinational organizations to mid-size nonprofits, websites and mobile apps are digitally accessible by scoping, testing, reporting, and delivering an analyses of her findings to improve on. With a degree from the University of Minnesota in Merchandising and previous employment as a recruiter and an optician, she understands accessibility as it relates to the real world, not just code snippets and terminology. Jenny has volunteered as a sighted guide for a local Twin Cities inclusion organization, demonstrating her dedication to accessibility has become more of a passion than a job description.
