Disability:IN Minnesota invites you to join us for our next (VIRTUAL) member meeting and community give on Wednesday, December 9th from 8:00-9:30 am. We hope you’ll join us to learn more about how you can get involved in a mission that provides computers to children in need during this time of virtual learning. For those who are interested, we encourage making a donation to this great cause!

Featured Presentation: Introduction to Minnesota Computers for Schools
Description: Tamara Gillard, Executive Director for MN Computers for Schools (MCFS) will share the story of MCFS. She will talk about the various facets of their business and about the most recent work to provide technology for students across the state for distance learning.

Tamara Gillard, Executive Director, Minnesota Computers for Schools has worked for MCFS since 1999. From the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2017 “Titans of Technology” feature: “Gillard has played a central role in transforming the program that started as a government extension and is now an independent 501(c)3 organization dedicated to increasing access to technology and improving digital literacy.” She has a degree as a Computer Specialist, ACE Leadership Alum and completed the Institute for Executive Director Leadership (IEDL) program at St. Thomas. Under her leadership MCFS was a 2016 Tekne Award winner for Collaboration and Community Impact, as recognized by the Minnesota High Tech Association.
How to Donate:
Minnesota Computers for Schools accepts both equipment and monetary donations. Monetary donations are currently being accepted for leasing a truck that will help more computers to be delivered. This will impact hundreds of students each year–services are ongoing as is the need.
Cost:
Members: Free (for member companies and their employees)
Non-members: $20 per person
Prospective Disability:IN Minnesota members are welcome to attend their first meeting free. For details, contact info@DI-MN.org.
