Disability:IN Minnesota invites you to join us for our next (VIRTUAL) member meeting on Wednesday, October 14th from 8:00-9:30 am as we learn how UnitedHealth Group increased access and opportunity by launching a disability inclusion internship program.

Description: Hiring individuals with disabilities is a business imperative for UnitedHealth Group as we build the healthcare workforce of the future that represents the members we serve. A new signature program (Disability Inclusion Internship) has been in development since Fall 2019 and launched officially on September 14, 2020. Learn about the year long journey it took from inception to launch and the benefits that have been seen.

Presenters:

• Andrea Eselunas is the Director, Enterprise Disability Inclusion Programs for UnitedHealth Group and is based in Hartford, CT. She leads the enterprise disability inclusion efforts by fostering connections between individuals, teams and partners who are passionate about supporting and driving the disability inclusion strategy. She has a strong focus on building UnitedHealth Group’s organizational capability, skills and infrastructure while identifying sourcing channels to fulfill their mission.
• Mike Wall joined Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, in 2005, and currently serves as the Assistant Vice President, Account Management and is based in Eden Prairie, MN. Mike is responsible for the service, support, retention and growth of Optum’s Health and Wellness programs for UnitedHealthcare’s ASO customers in MN, IL and WI. He is a passionate and active senior leader who sits on the UnitedHealh Group’s Hiring People with Disability Inclusion (HPwDI) Executive Steering Committee by advancing our enterprise disability initiatives. Additionally, he serves as board chairman of The Arc-Minnesota, which provides advocacy services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Members: Free (for member companies and their employees)
• Non-members: $20 per person
