2024: A Year in Review

Disability:IN Minnesota network,

Reflecting upon all we have achieved together in 2024, I’m filled with gratitude and amazement. Your steadfast commitment to exploring workforce inclusion and implementing best practices for hiring and retaining disabled employees encourages us all to continue the great work we do together.

Through close partnership with our 43 members, we strive for excellence in all we do. In 2024, we engaged 1,119 community members and reached memorable milestones:

Celebrations of Inclusion: From Disability Pride Month to our annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities Virtual Celebration featuring keynote Aaron Golub, we championed the voices and contributions of individuals with disabilities.

Workplace Engagement: In 2024, we hosted 8 monthly member meetings and networking sessions, reaching 727 participants to discuss important topics including the role of employee resource groups (ERGs), the intersections of disability and LGBTQ+ identities, the work of creating trauma-aware workplaces, and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable to foster more inclusive workplaces.

Resources and Tools: We launched guides and shared local resources to support businesses in their disability inclusion journeys, empowering employers to create more accessible and equitable workplaces.

With great pride, we learned that ten (10) of our members participated in the 2024 Disability Equality Index benchmark and received a remarkable 90% or higher rating.

Minnesota continues leading the way in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Still, there is much work to be done until everyone has a chance to succeed. We will not rest until that happens, and we cannot do it alone. With our dedicated Board of Directors, members, and partners, we are determined to spread the message of investing in inclusivity and showcase the many benefits of creating a diverse workforce across the state.
